Embroidery

How it’s done

Embroidery is the process of stitching a design, text or logo onto a garment.

The image required needs to be digitised. This is the conversion of the design into stitches using embroidery software, which the machine will then embroider to the clothing. The colour of the threads are chosen based on the design and if needed can be pantone matched to your choice.

A hoop is placed on the area of the garment which needs to be embroidered (ie. left chest), it is then sandwiched between said hoop and a backing hoop underneath the garment to create a tight area of fabric to embroider onto.

The hooped garment is loaded into the machine where the embroidery will then be completed one by one, being de-hooped, checked and packed for distribution. This is repeated for the total quantity of the order.

It wears well, looks professional and can be used on most types of garment.

Because embroidery creates a high quality look, it is a great alternative to print work.

  • A one off set up charge (£15 per image)
  • The price will increase with the more stitches in the design (size and density of image)

 

What files types need to be supplied when doing embroidery?

  • Good quality, hi-resolution .JPG, .PSD or .PNG files – if you’ve created your artwork in Adobe Photoshop, please save your file at least 100% of your required print size.
  • Other file types we accept for embroidery is Adobe Illustrator vector based files – .EPS, .AI or .PDF.
  • When providing vector based artwork please be sure all your fonts and strokes are outlined.
